SWOG S9910 - "Leukemia Centralized Reference Laboratories and Tissue Repositories, Ancillary"

 

Treatment Plan    (Supplied Drug:  N/A)

 

It is suggested that specimens collected for this protocol be taken from the diagnostic procedure, to prevent the need for an additional post-diagnostic specimen collection for registration.

 

Pts will receive tx as directed by the tx protocols on which they are registered.  Specimens of blood &/or marrow will be submitted as follows:

FOR AML & MDS REPOSITORY

NOTE:  For studies activated before 10/1/06 (SWOG S0325, SWOG S0333, & CALGB C10001), submit specimens to this repository if pt has been, or is expected to be, registered on a tx study for AML or MDS.
Pts w/WBC  <100,000/ul
1) 25-30cc of PERIPHERAL BLOOD
2) 8-10cc of BONE MARROW. If marrow is not aspirable ("dry tap"), submit 25-30cc of peripheral blood only.
Pts w/WBC >100,000/ul
1) 10-12cc of PERIPHERAL BLOOD.
2) 8-10cc of BONE MARROW. If marrow is not aspirable ("dry tap"), submit 25-30cc of peripheral blood only.
Ship at ROOM TEMPERATURE (no ice) by overnight courier to arrive w/i 24 hrs to:  CMCD Labs (ATTN:  Leukemia Repository - Sample Submission); Univ. of New Mexico Cancer Research Facility; Albuquerque, NM. Samples will be accepted on Sats. and holidays; HOWEVER, LAB MUST BE CONTACTED 1-2 DAYS BEFORE MAILING SAMPLE SO THAT SPECIAL MAILING INSTRUCTIONS CAN BE OBTAINED.

 

FOR LYMPHOID LEUKEMIA & CML REPOSITORY

NOTE:  Submit specimens to this repository only for SWOG S0325, SWOG S0333, & CALGB C10001

1) 8-10cc bone marrow aspirate
2) 10cc venous blood
Ship at ROOM TEMPERATURE (no ice) by overnight courier to arrive w/i 24 hrs:  Jerald Radich, MD; Lab #93 (SWOG ALL/CLL/CML Repository); Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Phone Dr. Radich in advance when you know a specimen will be sent. Samples will be accepted on Sats. and holidays; HOWEVER, LAB MUST BE CONTACTED 1-2 DAYS BEFORE MAILING SAMPLE SO THAT SPECIAL MAILING INSTRUCTIONS CAN BE OBTAINED.
